Certified Athletic Trainer (District) 2026-2027

Job Summary

The Certified Athletic Trainer under the direction of a physician provides a variety of services including injury/ illness prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and organization/ administration pertaining to middle school and high school student athletes in this organization. They provide coverage and care of athletic events and athletes in accordance with state statutes, regulations, rules, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited athletic training program, Masters Degree preferred.
2. Current certification through the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
3. Current State of South Carolina Athletic Training Licensure through the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. (SCLLR)
4. Current AHA CPR BLS certification

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide athletic training services to middle school and high school athletes in this organization.
2. Review Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) annually and any changes associated with the EAPs with the coaching staff when necessary.
3. Maintain close communication between the athletic training program and school administration.
4. Abide by all position statements and guidelines established by the National Athletic Trainers Association.
5. Provide first aid and injury assessment/treatment/rehabilitation/evaluation and appropriate referrals for middle school and high school student athletes.
6. Ensure compliance with all recordkeeping requirements, policies, and procedures.
7. Share professional information related to athletic training with the school’s coaching staff and administration as appropriate.
