WSP is currently initiating a search for a Finance Manager - CPA for our tolling operations team!
This position sits out of our Costa Mesa, CA office.
JOB SUMMARY
Primary responsibilities include organizing and directing all general accounting and financial activities for the client’s project. Will be responsible for reconciling operational and financial records between the various systems deployed for the operations. Managing the various operational and financial audits required for the project including cash and inventory. Interfacing with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal/external auditors. Focusing on process controls improvements and efficiencies of the program. Coordinating accounting functions, reporting, receivables and payables and achieving monthly performance measures. Supervising general accounting staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop accounting standard operating procedures including internal controls
Direct, monitor, and evaluate the activities and performance of the accounting activities/processes and accounting staff.
Monitor accounting systems and procedures and necessary updates.
Oversee weekly payables and customer refunds.
Oversee preparation of daily and monthly journal entries
Oversee preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis for client
Oversee preparation of daily, monthly quarterly and annual reconciliations
Perform evaluations of back-office operating software and identify areas for efficiency and operational improvements and/or modifications to functionality.
Ensure daily and monthly key performance measures are successfully achieved
Participate in internal project meetings and client meetings
Interface with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal/external auditors
Oversee internal audits such as monthly physical inventory audit
Oversee external audits such as SOC 1 Type II audit
Keep abreast of current accounting trends, practices, and developments in the profession including governmental accounting standards and regulations, GAAP and GASB.
Supervisor may assign other duties as needed.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of accounting and finance teams of two to three members.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting or related field
Active CPA license required
Five (5) years of financial and accounting experience including management or leadership positions overseeing accounting operations in a GAAP compliant, high-volume, transaction/trip processing environment performing revenue management, process audits and similar functions
Experience with tolling back-office systems preferred
Ability to package and present quantitative data effectively.

Compensation
Expected Salary $89,000 - $140,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
