Join a close-knit team coordinating daily rail operations within a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is central to ensuring trains, crews, and equipment move safely and efficiently while maintaining high customer service standards. You’ll gain hands-on experience in rail operations, working across dynamic shifts in a well-established, safety-focused company. key responsibilities:
- Ensure all rail operations comply with safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Apply rail safe-working rules and respond to incidents or emergency situations.
- Monitor and coordinate daily train and rail vehicle movements within the yard.
- Support planning to achieve safe, efficient, and on-time rail operations.
- Communicate train movements and updates with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate rail shunt teams to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain accurate rail data entry, operational logs, and shift reports.
- Prepare and distribute documentation to support operational activities.
- Participate in risk assessments, inspections, and operational meetings.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Essential
- Medically fit to work within a rail safety environment (CAT2 Rail Medical) or willingness to undertake.
- Must possess a valid WA driver’s license
- Graduation in Year 12 high school or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in daily rail operations, especially freight and intermodal terminal focused
- 2-3 years previous experience in Transport, Warehousing, rail operations.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers and all levels of management within the business.
Desirable
- Completed or enrolled in Cert III in Supply Chain Logistics traineeship or other relevant Qualification.
Other important information
