TO FULFILL THIS POSITION SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL FUNCTION SATISFACTORILY.

 Essential Job Duties: 

  • Oversee, assist and support staff members with any issues regarding order processing and receiving parts; and be familiar with all aspects of picking, receiving and small packaging functions, shipping, and labeling operations. Pick, move and load/unload parts and finished goods utilizing a forklift as necessary.
  • Ensure that all departments for the shift are efficiently covered and coordinate all working hours to maximize performance. Responsible for eliminating waste in labor usage.
  • Monitor the departments’ workload and determine the number of pending and the number of processed orders on a daily basis.  Ensure that all orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory control during all transactions to ensure warehouse location optimization as well as the current slotting of all products based on specifications in the Warehouse Management System
  • Create and maintain warehouse organization for high velocity SKU’s to be located within the main picking areas and rotation of items deemed to be slow movers.
  • Responsible for all inventory moves to include all replenishment operations for the production area in a timely and efficient manner to support and optimize production and general inventory turns are as high as possible.
  • Responsible for the management of the material handling equipment for assigned warehouse area.
  • Coordinate with Inside Sales and Planning Department(s) to ensure items are received and shipped timely for scheduled shipments.
  • Maintain close contact and work jointly with other departments such as production, quality, inside sales, and the supply chain to solve any problems related to order processing and inventory.
  • Help Coordinate the scheduling of all inbound and outbound containers with the appropriate carrier to ensure containers arrive on time to meet shipping schedules.
  • Conduct safety meetings for the department on a monthly basis to ensure that all personnel are properly trained and complying with safety issues.
  • Oversee the Receiving operations to ensure all receiving, bar code labeling, put away and replenishment processes are completed as scheduled.
  • Oversee the operation of the inventory storage and movement systems for assigned work area, be able to troubleshoot problems, make user level adjustment and ensure it remains operational.  Issue necessary maintenance requests.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage systems to maximize space utilization and minimize material handling costs
  • Ensure all products received is updated in the Warehouse Management System with the correct measurements, quantities, and labels according to Purchase Orders in the ERP system.  Work to solve any problems related to purchases.
  • Create, monitor and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of process improvements such as detailed analysis and reporting for inventory turns, days on hand, accuracy, and capacity
  • Implement lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse operations and increase efficiency
  • Utilize the MRP/ERP/Warehouse management system, Plex, to analyze trends to plan efficiency improvements in all warehouse operations.
  • Communicate with the Quality Control (QC) team to monitor part status, including arrival status, quality, and packaging
  • Develop and implement efficient shipping and receiving SOP procedures to streamline operations and minimize errors
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs
  • Responsible for training all assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for motivating and addressing performance of staff.
  • Responsible for writing performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for interviewing and training staff.
  • Ensure training of new employees and temporary help is scheduled and completed.
  • Conduct Forklift training in conjunction with the Safety Manager as assigned.
  • Conduct weekly team and safety meetings and document the meeting for follow-up.
  • Responsible for ensuring all time cards within assigned area are maintained daily.
  • Perform all other related duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION SUCCESSFULLY

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Must have previous experience in a Distribution Center environment.
  • Requires prior supervisory experience within a Distribution Center environment with familiarity with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Previous work experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems software is highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be computer literate and be proficient with email and Microsoft Office and business analytics (Power BI).
  • Must be forklift certified and possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must possess a desire to gain experience and understanding in automated control in using systems.

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to assist and motivate personnel effectively.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must possess decision-making and organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong English verbal and written skills.
  • Must be able to interface with other company employees as well as those outside of the company.
  • Must possess mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job.

 Working Conditions: 

 Work is primarily performed at the warehouse.  Lighting is artificial.  Equipment used includes standard office equipment, i.e.; computer and telephone; and standard safety equipment i.e.; forklift and scooter; and automated sortation system.  Individual will have some exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, and fumes.  Physical demands include walking, standing, bending over, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling, repetitive use of both hands  and able to lift 50 lbs.  Hours are primarily Monday through Friday, with various shifts and some weekends required.  Position requires contact with Hestan and outside personnel.  

Administrative Exemption

The job duties and salary of this position meet all of the following five tests:

  1. Duties and responsibilities involve either:

(a) The performance of office or non-manual work directly related to management policies or general business operations of the employer or the employer’s customers,

  1. Customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment.
  2. Is one who:

(a) regularly and directly assists a proprietor, or an employee employed in a bona fide executive or administrative

capacity.

(b) performs under only general supervision work along specialized or technical lines requiring special training,

experience, or knowledge; or

(c) executes under only general supervision special assignments and tasks.

  1. Is “primarily engaged” in duties that meet the above tests. More than one-half of the employee’s work time is spent engaged in exempt work, or work that is directly and closely related to exempt work and work which is properly viewed as a means for carrying out exempt functions.
  2. Earns a monthly salary equivalent to no less than two times the state minimum wage for full-time employment
