Brew Crew Opportunity

Our Brew Crew is seeking a Café Service Technician to maintain the facilities and equipment inside of our cafés.  The Café Service Technician is a critical part of our facilities department which maintains our “Simply the Best Cafés” enabling them to deliver Total Quality Experience. This role is responsible for maintaining the equipment and facilities in our Cafés. This position will report directly to the Facilities Asset Manager as part of the Facilities Team.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair espresso equipment, grinders, brewers, and water filtration systems, and other in-café equipment to ensure optimal performance. You will diagnose mechanical/electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and guide team members on equipment care. Key requirements include technical proficiency, strong customer service skills, and organization. Further details:

  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on espresso machines, grinders, refrigeration, bake cases, RO systems, and brewing equipment.
  • Installation: Install, calibrate, and test new equipment.
  • Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing faulty components (pumps, boilers, heating elements) on-site
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support and training to baristas on proper equipment usage and cleaning.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and parts usage. 
  • Rotating On Call: Available to accept emergency calls or work orders on rotating weeks as needed.
  • This role will work with Operations, Development, Construction, and Design.
  • Work closely with equipment vendors and 3rd party service vendors.


Your Ingredients

The right Café Service Technician comes with experience working in fast-paced guest centric environments. Visits usually occur during operating hours and in and around team members and guests. The ability to communicate well and be a brand builder is a critical element of the role.

  • Minimum of 3 years working in a café facilities role is required.
  • Experience working with Eversys, Simonelli, Fetco, Curtis, and Mazzer is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read schematics.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 50lbs and work in tight spaces. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Will involve working weekends, early mornings, or on-call shifts.
  • Frequent lifting of equipment (up to 50+ lbs) and standing for long periods of time.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

This is a Field based position: This role will visit Cafés throughout the week with occasional meetings at our Support Center in Los Angeles. This role will also visit our Roasting Facility in Camarillo for parts and equipment storage.
